How to read a THC record

A THC category tells you how a number has been filed in the archive. It does not tell you the result for a current product carrying the same strain name.

Start with the cultivar page. Note the figure exactly as shown, then check whether the page identifies its source, date and batch. Keep “not specified” in your notes where a detail is missing. A number copied into a database should not acquire a laboratory status simply through repetition.

Next, look at what the source actually measured. A report can distinguish delta-9 THC, THCA and total THC. Keep that label with the figure rather than shortening all three to “THC”. Our explanation of THC, THCA and total THC covers the distinction.

For example, the Gelato 33 archive entry displays 20%. That is a statement about this record. It does not establish the value for every producer or batch using the name.

You need only the archive page and its supporting source to follow this process. If the original source or batch report is missing, the comparison stops there. Record the gap instead of manufacturing precision, then continue through the relevant cultivar profile.
